Awana Missionaries Bruce & Melanie Patrick
Bruce’s Testimony I met Christ and trusted Him as my Savior during the summer between my junior and senior years of high school. As a child, I had made a decision but it was only to impress my parents. I had relied on that decision for many years but realized that was not a true conversion. On July 11, 1980, I personally accepted Christ as my Savior. I have been involved in AWANA for 25 years. I have been a Pals and Pioneers leader and director, Game Director and Commander. Melanie’s Testimony At the age of seven, I trusted Christ as my Lord and Savior with simple faith. As I grew older and began to understand more deeply what Christ had done on the cross, I began to question my salvation. I began to rely on my feelings and my attempts to deserve salvation. God revealed to me that Christ died for the penalty of my sin because He loved me and because He could. He did not deserve it, He chose to do the will of the Father. I could do nothing to deserve the free gift of salvation, but rather accept it by grace through simple faith. I have also been involved with Awana for 25 years serving as Sparks and Guards leader, Guards director, and JV leader.
